India is dealing with the pandemic related unemployment. Many may realize that a degree and certification does not equate to paid employment. India already had a problem of youth unemployment. The pandemic induced economic crisis is being seen as the great equalizer and an opportunity for reset. Although you are jobless, you can find the opportunity of the moment.
The world is flat. Explore your opportunities for remote work and collaboration outside of India. Use social media to find opportunities of work outside of India. Create a LinkedIn account. Get on a couple of exclusive Zoom meetings. For example, Alex Banayan, author of The Third Door, is doing mentoring sessions. Find Alex Banayan on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram for more info about his mentoring sessions. There may be doors that you can access worldwide through social media.
Take the moment to upskill. Find learning resources online to expand your skill set. You need to learn forever skills. Sales, marketing, and pitching are forever skills. You can use those skill sets in any economy. The global economy may be heading toward valuing skills over credentials.
Think about the problem you were born to solve. It could be a problem you are most passionate about. You are determined to make a way to do something about it. Make that problem the focus of your career. You can embrace a slash career and pursue opportunities across different industries.
Watch for the creation of new industries. The pandemic induced recession can result in the birthing of new industries. The skills you learn will be adaptable to the new industries being formed. Be open to morphed job roles. For example, if your role is social media manager it can morph to social media director. Be willing to juggle multiple roles within a single job function.
